Memorials, Paddles and Blue Waters

We had a really great Memorial Day despite the fact that Jared was on call!
We started the day off by all three of us sleeping in and just relaxing. Which was so nice!!
(By the way Kailie does not usually sleep with us just when we all sleep in and by sleeping in I mean we were up at 7:30.)

Then Jared headed to the hospital while Kailie and I headed to the USS Missouri or the Mighty Mo. Which is a battleship that was damaged at Pearl Harbor during the attack and then went on to be where the Japanese finally surrendered. It is a gigantic ship and it was really interesting to learn more about it. Definitely a great way to start Memorial day by remembering our past!

Then it was off to Hickam Beach where we played in the water and my friend Jenny and I finally got to try paddle boarding. Which is a surfing/kayaking sport that we have been wanting to try. It was fun and hard and I was even a little sore the next day and we were only on flat water, you are supposed to do it on waves. Maybe next time!

Kailie had fun and finally discovered sand for the first time. The jury is still out to whether or not she likes it but at least she didn't try to eat it..... Yet!!!

Then it was time to swim because man was it HOT!! It is getting super hot and humid here so we decided it was time for Kailie to go into the ocean. She didn't cry so I take that to mean that she liked it. Although we don't think she loved the waves hitting her back but besides that we think she is going to live up to her name which translated is Ocean Harbor.

We ended the day by hanging out with friends and having a BBQ at Jenni and Matt's house. Thanks Steele's for inviting us along to all your fun activities! It was a great, relaxing day!

The Half Way Mark!

Here we go again! Another month older and this time it is the big 6 months!! It definitely has been 6 months of joy for Jared and I! We couldn't ask for a sweeter baby and are so grateful for how good she is. To celebrate Kailie's 6 month Birthday we went to Utah!! It was great to see everyone and just chill, Kailie especially had fun playing with her daddy everyday, pretty much all day for a whole week! We aren't sure how much she weighs yet so I am guessing about 15 lbs. While in Utah she began to be more mobile by rolling everywhere and loves it, too bad she is back at her home where there isn't a whole lot of room to roll! She is still only eating breastmilk , she just doesn't seem interested in food but we will try soon I am sure. She can't sit on her own yet but she is getting there! Her favorite things in life are eating, chewing or sucking on any kind of material i.e. blankets, clothes and fingers. Talking and singing and of course hanging up-side down. On the plane ride back to Hawaii Kailie just wanted to hang over my legs into the aisle and everyone around me was like Aaahh that baby is falling but after they would see it was she who put herself in that position they all just laughed at her! She was so amazing on all the flights and did not cry once! Once we landed I was like man what can I do to pay her back for being so good traveling for me. Some day she is going to get back at us since she is so good now!

She learned how to roll-over in her swing, time to strap that child down!

She of course loves to suck on hands and she tried a jumper, she seemed to like to be able to turn. She loves to stand so we think she will really like this once she gets the hang of it!

We took her to the park, she didn't love the slide but she seemed to like the tetter-totter. She loves playing in the walker although her feet don't touch the ground yet. The first time she played in the walker I just thought Wow she looks so big, sitting up and playing all by herself! She is growing-up way to fast!

Up-side Down of Course!!

Swinging at Jared's Parent's, she did it by her self but didn't really even seem to realize she was moving!

Sixth Months! First Week
She has definitely filled out a lot in 6 months and I think it is safe to say that she officially has blue eyes, white blond hair and really long eyelashes!
Happy 6th Month!! May the next 6 be just as fun but not so fast!!

Mother's Day!!

We had a great Mother's Day! It is weird how all of the sudden Mother's Day took on a whole new meaning and feeling! Jared got up early and cleaned the kitchen even though he was super sick, on call and was flying to Seattle a few hours later. It was so nice of him , then he surprised me with a card from the Kai Kai and a few presents, a mom and baby pilates video which will come in handy when I teach pilates to women from church who all have babies and the Jon and Kate book from Surviving to Thriving. The biggest gift though was kind of spur of the moment. I have been wanting a wheat grinder since we've been married and last Saturday we went to our stake Being Prepared Expo. I guess Jared started talking to our ward specialist about grinders so when he got home he went straight to the computer looked them up saw they were having a free shipping weekend due to Mother's Day and walaa we now will have a way to grind up our wheat if we are ever in an emergency plus now we can have whole wheat any time we need it! I am pretty excited! The church leaders out here really stress being prepared and we our slowly getting everything, if you aren't prepared I suggest you get started, you never know when you might need to be!
All in all it was a great day even with Jared having to fly out. I love being a mom and never expected it to be so fun!!
I mean how could you not love being a mom when you get to play with this all day!
Happy Mother's Day everyone!!

Cause the World is just so much better Upside Down!!

This is seriously Kailie's favorite position! She loves it and knows how to push herself off your lap to get into this position! It seems as though she would get major headaches but she doesn't seem to, in fact she would probably stay in this position all day if we let her!!
Silly Silly Baby!!
