Projects and Projects!

When we first moved here we started to look for some new furniture. We knew we didn't want to buy anything really nice or expensive since we will be moving so much and having little kids I am sure they will all get destroyed.
We found this ugly thing on craigslist. I liked it mainly because it is small and doesn't take up a lot of room and
 also because of this.
It turns around and has a mirror on the back which is awesome and a huge space saver.
Here it is now. So much better.

I am sure it won't last forever but for now it is great!!
Our friend who redid Kai's dresser gave us this extra wallpaper she had. It really helped to lighten the piece up!

I bought this table for Kai off of Craigslist and thought it was kind of boring.

So we sanded it down, which Kai loved to help out doing.

 s
Then I painted it some fun bright colors and the top is the
Chalkboard Paint which as you can tell Kai has already tried out!
We teach the CTR 5 class and decided to do something fun for each of them for their Birthdays. So I made them each their own little CTR Cake. It was fun and I think they enjoyed them. Now I just have to make 6 more.

Friend time

While in Utah  over Christmas we were able to see a lot of dear friends. Wouldn't life be so much fun if we got to live close to all of our friends.

Kai and her cousin Kaleigh who is my cousin Megan's daughter.
I got to see a bunch of my close high school friends and this is the only picture I have to show for it but just to show you what they all looked like back in the day!
Back Row: Andee, Megann, Sarah, Me Front Row: Tiff, Monica, Karen, Megan, Jill
Speaking of all living by each other, in high school we all decided that we were all going to marry Seminary teachers and live in a Cul-de-Sac together! At least most of everyone besides Sarah and I live in Utah!

Enter the Mahoney Family, dear friends from Hawaii. Jeramy and I actually go way back to our UVSC days. They are so much fun and we miss playing with them!

The West's, Our first friends as a married couple.
They had just moved to Hawaii and we became instant friends.
Now they have two kids.
In fact all of our friends in Hawaii that had no kids when we all met now have two. We are lagging way behind, some are even working on three already!
We even got to see Sadie,Cory and of course Kai's favorite Isi and had lots of fun playing with him. My old roommate Chelsie was there this night too but of course I don't have any pictures.
Best of buds even after all the time apart and all the fights!!

Kailie and I got to see the Steele's while we were down in Vegas. Fun to see them and meet there new little boy. Man I miss the days of sitting on our surf boards enjoying the sun and waves together!

Kailie and Abby became quick friends again.
They even played dress up together!

And lets not forget our favorite Friend, the great Cafe Rio. We visited this one a lot and man I could sure use some of this friend right now!

The Best Activity in the Snow!

Typical shot, men working on a snowmobile!
The Monday after Christmas we got invited up to a cabin in Big Cottonwood Canyon in SLC to snowmobile and hang out for the day. I was in heaven!! Snowmobiling is what I did all growing up and I haven't gone for years. It took me a little while to warm up to getting the feel of driving them again but man I love it. So fun!
I don't think I have ever been snowmobiling with out one machine having some sort of problems and this trip was no different.
Christa and I hanging out while the men fixed the machine. Don't you love the full body snowsuits? They are the best for snowmobiling, no wind drafts!
Jared and I with Jared and Christa Maybe who invited us. They are such a fun family and we love spending time with them!
Kailie tackling her daddy!
Some of Jared's family came up for a few hours and got to do a little riding. None of them had ever been on a snowmobile before. I think they had a good time! This is Jason and one of his kids!
Cousins Kailie, Cam and S all playing in the snow together!
Rachel and Cole making the long trek back to the top of the hill!
I think we have a natural here. She looks ready to take off and drive herself.
Rachel, Nick and Cole getting ready to go for a ride!
Jaime, I and Cam heading out. Jaime was a champ at driving for the first time!
Jared, Kai and S heading out.
Nick and Cole
B choose to just hang out and play at the cabin. I was the one who drove him into the cabin on the snowmobile and after we arrived he says to me didn't you hear me yelling to slow down!! Here I was trying to drive a little bit faster to give them a fun ride!! Oops!
The Kaister came back from her ride wiped out. That is something I have done many a times in my life.  It felt so good to get back out and snowmobile.
I am not sure what Jared thinks of it. When the snow is too deep of powder then the machines get stuck alot which makes for a lot of hard work. This day had quite a bit of fresh powder so it was alot of work. I loved it and can't wait to go again!!

New Years Eve

New Year's Eve was spent hanging out with the Theler Clan!
Here Cam and McKayla are baking some cakes while Kai watches.

Then we all went bowling. I think it is safe to say that everyone had a good time.
Brennan helping Kai carry her ball.
Kai was all into bowling, she loved it and had a hard time waiting her turn!
