Halloween Parties

We had a fun Halloween season this year.  I decided long ago when I bought McKean's cute little Alien costume that we were going to be Toy Story Characters. Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head are so fitting for the Alien so we had to be them. I spent a LONG time making them. Mostly because I haven't sewed for a long time so I had to figure out how to do everything again. I love the costumes though and it was fun to sew. I felt so domestic. They even have spare parts stored in a butt pocket in the back. So Awesome!!
Our ward trunk or treat was our first chance to wear our costumes this year and I barely finished Jared's costume just in time for the party!

Kailie was so excited to be Jessie and whenever she was asked what she was going to be she would say all happy " I am going to be Jessie." Then the night of the party, she did not want to dress up or do anything. I don't think she was feeling well but she had no symptoms of anything other than being tired and not eating. So I barely talked her into putting her costume on and she reused to wear the hat.

The poor girl was definitely not having the best night. She didn't eat anything at all at dinner and just wasn't her normal, happy, crazy self.

She did have fun doing all the games.
McKean wouldn't wear his hat either little stinker and Justin the Wizard totally freaked him out here and he came a scooting over to his Momma!
Our good friends the Taylors were the Avengers. Love that movie and love their costumes. Ironman, Black Widow, the Hulk, Captain America, Thor and Lucy from Narnia and the cute little precious tiger. Love these guys, so sad they are moving so soon!

Jared doing his usual scaring of the kids with the hand as the reach in to get Candy!

McKean just enjoyed his freedom of exploring the car!
And did not enjoy his hat!
It was COLD, or at least cold for San Antonio so we were all a little chilly during the Trunk or Treat part.
Our next party was our annual Dinner in a Pumpkin Halloween Party. This year it was mandatory that your food had to be Halloweeney and you had to be in Costume. It turned out cute and we all had a good time.

Brett and Stacie the Cowboys and their cute little Dog, they were minus one little Rapunzel who was running around having too much fun to stop for a photo.

Scott and Andrea or should I say Joker, Catwoman with their cute little BatMan.
The Kecks or should I say the Wizard and his Witch along with their adorable little Kitty Cat.
They are also missing two cute little witches.

Our good friends the Steeles from Hawaii were in town and able to come but their two cute little kids are the only evidence I have that they were there. It was so fun to have them over and catch up with them again.
Then there was the Toy Story Klan minus one very tired Buzz Lightyear that was taking a snooze somewhere. Our friends Joe and Heather and their kids were all Toy Story characters as well. So fun to have almost all of us. And no Kailie did not want to wear her costume this night either, I had to make her just for the photos.

Chowing down the Grubb!

No Halloween party would be complete with out a Witch's Brew!!

And Yummy Caramel Apples. He loved this and chowed down on it for quite awhile.

The whole gang minus the Steeles and Fitzgeralds who had already left before we thought to take a group photo.
It was a fun night, now on to figuring out what we will be next year!! According to Kailie she wants to be a witch since that is what her best friends were.
I guess time will tell~!~

Halloween SeaWorld Style

Seaworld is really fun at Halloween time.
They have haunted houses, mazes, crazy scary people that walk around scaring you and all the shows are based around Halloween. We got to go on a date with a bunch of our friends out here one night. It was fun, the lines for the haunted houses were crazy but the ride lines were short. It was fun and all the scary people seriously can be scary especially when they sneak up on you and stand right behind you.
So Fun!
We also took the kids a few times. This first night was a girls night. Our hubby's were working, well Jared was home but he didn't want to be the only husband so he stayed home with McKean and Kai and I got to go on a little date together.
They have fun Halloween stuff everywhere.
We took them into the scary area to go through a maze that isn't scary but has some crazy parts, like a spinning tunnel. Kai did not like the tunnel and just fell down to the ground. I had to pick her up and carry her which I was a little worried about because it makes you feel like you are walking sideways. The whole rest of the time in the maze she kept saying she just wanted to go home. It was cute. We went again the next week, with Jared and McKean. She did better, McKean got a little scared and did not like the tunnel part.
Kai didn't really get scared by the people, just a few times like when they would chase us or make loud noises by us. I was surprised how much they tried to scare the little kids. I mean come on they are 3 years old, just look but don't follow them. Kai and Boston ran up to the bearded lady and were just talking to her so I had to get a photo. Meanwhile Savannah was over hiding under a table scared to death!! It was kind of funny how scared she was.
We ran into our other friend Kylie and got a photo with a witch.
Then it was off to the fun, not scary part. The Count Dracula's Halloween show.

The kids loved it as always.
We rode a few rides and then stayed late for the Monster Stomp which was a dance performance with some classic great 80's songs in it.

These two pirate skeletons are funny.
They talk to you and actually answer your questions!!
The kids love it and their answers are super funny!!

Birthday Boy

 Look Who's 1!!
This sweet little boy turned One on Saturday the 6th and I just can't believe it!!
I feel as though this year has gone by so much faster than Kai's first year and I also feel as though I don't truly know McKean. I guess that is what happens when you are not the only child, eh? But, I do love this little guy so much and Have LOVED having him in our family. I remember last Christmas just really feeling like we were a real family, more complete now having McKean in our lives.

We were up in Austin on his Birthday, which is only fitting since he is named after that city and can I just say that we hadn't really been to Austin when we decided to name him that but it is such a cool city. If and that is a big IF, I had to live in Texas forever, I would want to live there.
Friday night we went to this awesome park and just enjoyed the time outside and enjoyed McKean's last day of being a BABY!!
He is right on the verge of walking and loves to hold your hand and walk. I personally don't want him to walk because I LOVE LOVE LOVE his monkey crawl.

He is such a sweet little guy who loves to cuddle and laugh. He has definitely brought a lot of Laughter into our home which was such a blessing.

I truly love spending my day hanging out with him.
He is crazy and gets into everything and climbs on everything and eats everything but I love that.
 He makes me laugh.
He also really loves his sister. They play well MOST of the time.
He is a little ham and loved to look at himself in the mirror in our hotel room.
Hey there handsome boy!

Saturday, the day of his actual birth, the guys left early for their race and Andrea and I and the kids were just going to hang out and swim at the pool but to our surprise we woke up to 6o degree's and decided to head to the park instead.
San Antonio really doesn't have any great parks so this was such a treat to go to one two days in a row and it was so AWESOME that it was cooler.
I love pants and sweatshirts. Hooray!!
This cute old fire truck that they converted to be part of the play ground.

Perhaps this little guy will grow up to be a fire man.
This was the morning of general conference in which they announced the mission age changes. Can't believe this little guy has one less year with us now!!

We rode the train that goes all around the huge park and along the river. The babies and Kai and Brinley did great and had fun. Savanna not so much, she was really cold.
On our way out we let the girls get a balloon from this old clown guy that was just there making balloons for all the kids at the park. He had a line the whole time and I am sure he made some great money. What a great thing to do when you are older.
I love Brin's face in this, She got a mermaid, Kai got a flower and Savanna a butterfly. He did a really cool horse that we tried to talk the girls into getting but they wanted these instead.

After a really long drive home, we finally made it. Jared had to go to priesthood conference, so we did a quick open presents and cards from the grandparents.
McKean is a little unsure of this laughing dog that rolls around, he doesn't cry but he doesn't want him to come by him either.
So cute!
Then we had some of his favorite foods for dinner. Pancakes, these are delicious homemade whole wheat and we all love them.
Add a green smoothie and it is one delicious easy healthy meal that we all love.
This kid loves his smoothies.
I realized as we were eating that it was the exact time that McKean was born. 6:54 pm. So I snapped these couple of shots. Crazy that this is exactly one year apart.

My little baby isn't really a baby anymore.
Happy Happy 1st Birthday Sweet little Keaner's.
We love you and love having you in our family!!
You have brought us so much joy and laughter.
Love you little guy!
