6th Anniversary

Jared and I celebrated our 6th Wedding anniversary and this year we actually got to celebrate it. Last year we made some plans to have our awesome friends the Keck's watch Kai for us overnight so we could get away and have a night free but then McKean decided to crash the party and came a week early so we spent our 5th Anniversary in the hospital enjoying our sweet new little man.
This year we needed some time just the two of us so again we enlisted the help the Awesome Keck's and they watched both kids for us while we went up to Austin and spent the evening hanging out . Jared surprised me with massages which were awesome  and then we headed up to Austin to have dinner at the Melting Pot.

It was fun, the cheese and desert courses were awesome, the meat course was so so  but regardless it was just awesome to get some time away from the kids. Date nights are rare for us, like I could probably count on both my hands how many dates we have gone on since Kai was diagnosed.

The Chocolate Caramel fondue was awesome!
Overall it was fun, something we might do again someday. Then we headed to a resort hotel at Lake Travis. The resort was nice, but we were both so exhausted by the time we got there we didn't even go enjoy the pool or anything, but can I just say how awesome it was to just walk into a hotel with one bag, and not have to worry about cribs, or getting the kids to bed and being quiet not to wake them up.
It was heavenly for sure.
The view of Lake Travis. This area was super nice and it was just nice to see something pretty.

Then we headed to downtown Austin and took a tour of the capital which was actually good. I learned a lot about Texas. Then we accidentally discovered this Awesome, Amazing natural water pool called Barton Springs, it was FREEZING, but felt good since it is still so hot here. Jared did a bunch of flips off the diving board.
The Keck's met us here with the kids and we hung out with them at the park and then went to the Hulu hut which is a fun little restaurant right on the water of Lake Austin. Poor Andrea had a rough day with the kids, Kai's number's were crazy low all day even though she kept eating a ton. We definitely owe them big time.
Playing at the park with two of my favorite people!!

The big fish at the Hulu Hut!
Kai was in heaven spending the night with her two besties.
We spent the next night in Austin as well because Jared and Justin were doing the tough mudder the next day up there. As soon as we walked in the hotel room, Kai ran to the window seat and said she wanted to sleep there. We let her knowing that she would fall off and sure enough, she was asleep and we were watching the BYU football game when I see her start to roll and then just plopped to the pillows on the ground. She didn't even wake up or seemed fazed by it all so we then moved her to the bed. That girl can sleep through anything.
It was a great anniversary and so nice to just have some time together as a couple. Now we just really need to find a teenage babysitter that we can trust to watch Kai so we can go out more often.
Happy Anniversary Babe, it has been a crazy 6 years but I wouldn't change it for anything.
