Easter Fun

Jello Rubber Ducky pond made by Summer!
I have officially become a horrible blogger. I blame it on it being pregnant and still not feeling great!! We should find out here in the next couple of weeks what it is so that is exciting!

Anyways, we had a great Easter, it was 10,000 times better than last year that is for sure!!
The little ones got a head start on searching for those eggs!
Saturday we had an Easter Egg Hunt at out friends The Auston's house followed by a delicious brunch! The weather has been anything but spring weather here, rainy and cold. We finally had our first real warm days this past week! This day wasn't super cold which was nice but it rained all morning so the hunt was pretty wet!!

Kailie had a blast. It took her a few minutes to figure out what she was supposed to do but then she was all over the place, getting as many as she could!

Doesn't she look so excited. She really did have a good time but would not smile for the camera!!
The next day I was talking with a lady from chruch who said that her son had woken up in the middle of the night throwing up because he had eaten so much candy. She asked if Kai had eaten alot and as I thought about it I realized Kai didn't eat any candy on Easter. She never opened her eggs to discover that there was candy inside.

Her favorite friend Avery.
Everyday she grabs her purse and other belongings and says "See ya later Mom." When I ask her where she is going she always says " To Avery's house."
Kris and Jared watching the fun. Jared ended up wearing the bunny ears all day,  I think he forgot that he had them on!
After the hunt Kailie quickly found her favorite friend Jenn. She always wants to be held by Jenn whenever we are around her!
The kiddos stuffing their cute faces.
Sunday was dreary, rainy and overcast as usual. Kailie in her cute Easter dress and Hat. You gotta love target's one dollar area, that is where I got the hat! It is a little bit big but still darling!  I wanted to get a family pic but we never did!

Showing off the easter craft she made in Nursery!! She is so cute and wore her hat all day at church!
Checking out the Easter Basket. I think from now on I am going to fill the  basket with more Christ centered things such as photos, stickers, etc.
Kai's choice of shoes while we dyed the eggs on the wrong feet no less!
Putting on the Toy Story wrappers, of course!
Kai loved this part and had dye all over her at the end.
We had dinner that evening at the West's house. They are such a great family and we are so happy to have met them and all of our other friends here.
It was just a really great Easter, the talks in church were great. I noticed that there were a lot of visitors there to celebrate the great occasion

New York City the Third

We ventured down to the big city for a third go around and I guess the third time really is a charm. Jared had a work conference down there so he was gone all day and it was just the Kaister and I left alone to brave the Big City all by ourselves. The thing I was most worried about was having to drive into the city and find parking all by myself. We stayed outside the city in White Plains and so my choices were to drive or take the metro and taking the NYC metro with a stroller is not fun and since I was about 2 1/2 months pregnant and right in the middle of my morning sickness phase I decided driving was the best option. I was also really nervous about accidentally ending up in a bad neighborhood so I thought for the first day we would just drive over to Hoboken NJ and visit Carlos Bakery from the TV show the cake boss. So I start driving and then I realize that in order to get to NJ I have to drive through the Bronx which completely freaked me out but it ended up being fine, and we made it to cute little Hoboken in one piece.

This was the line to get into the Bakery.
I had researched before hand and knew it would probably be a long line.
Kai  was such a sport as we waiting in line outside for a good 45 min.

Once we got inside was another story. She was just really ansey and it was so crowded she couldn't really move. Thankfully, one of the workers noticed her starting to get crazy and helped me even though it wasn't my number. It was fun to go and see, the pastries were okay nothing I would have to go back for. I mainly just went because I really didn't feel like walking around Manhattan in the rain with a crazy two year old.
The next day we drove into the city again and went to the childrens museum there. It was free with this science pass I have so it definitely made it worth it. Kai had a blast. Here she is feeding Alphie the dragon.
Afterwards we headed to Central Park to just hang out and explore. Sometimes I wonder why I even bother bringing a stroller since she usually prefers to walk instead.
Central Park was so much fun.
The weather warmed up and there was this awesome group playing some great music.
Kai wanted to be right by the band so that is where we were. Thankfully there was another little girl there as well and the two of them became quick friends.
The boathouse and a new friend!
Checking out the ducks!!
This guy was pretty cool. He would make this huge bubbles and all the kids would chase them and pop them I gave hime some money and then he let Kai "Blow one" she thought it was a blast.

Classic shot of Central Park.

We stopped and Kai got her portrait done.  She didn''t really sit there the whole time, he took a picture of her and then she went off to run around. The portrait turned out pretty good.

We then finally made it FAO Schwarz which I have been wanting to go to forever. It was awesome because it was almost totally empty. So much better than the last time we tried to go there and the wait just to get in was like an hour.
Kai had a blast on the BIG piano. I thought it was pretty fun to!!
This trip was definitely low key and fun. I didn't get sick at all which was a nice surprise and made me actually want to go back to the big city someday!

One Year Later

Today marks the one year anniversary of Kai getting diagnosed with Diabetes. Definitely not a happy day for Jared and I. Once again it falls on General Conference weekend. This weekend will always be bittersweet for us. The good of hearing the apostles and Prophet give us guidance and also the reminder of the day that our lives changed forever.

Last year in the Hospital. This photo pretty much sums up how we all were feeling that weekend!
I am amazed how fast the time has gone by! We have definitely had our rough times this year but overall it has been a great year, Kai is at such a "mostly" fun age minus the temper tantrums and such. I can only hope that this next year will be even better. I remember while we were in the hospital last year all the diabetes specialists kept telling us that things would get better and I totally didn't believe them because I know that things will never really be better or the way they were before but they have gotten easier. This is our life now and most days its not too bad.

This day has also become a cursed day for me as far as running goes. Last year, Jared and I were signed up the Ford Island Bridge Run which is a 10K. It was my first race ever, I was so excited just because I love Ford Island and was so excited to run around it but then we spent the weekend in the hospital. Now fast forward to this year, Jared decided he wants to run a marathon this year so we sign up for the NYC half Marathon for you guessed Today. I signed up just to do the 5k but was excited and then the very next day I found out I was pregnant. I planned on still doing the race and was still running a little bit. A bunch of girlfriends from the ward are signed up to do it as well. But now I am sick Sick Sick.  I have already done the whole NYC and barfing thing together so I opted at the last minute not to go. So once again I am missing a race this same say that I have already paid for at least this time it is for a much BETTER reason.

I have just come to the conclusion that I should never sign up for a race again that falls on this same weekend.

Kai this year. Wearing the church outfit she picked out all by herself.
Kai and I will be spending the day enjoying Conference, Jared will be running and all of us are just grateful that we are not sitting in a hospital room.

No April Fools Joke Here!!

So I guess today is as a good of day as any to finally announce that we are expecting another little bundle of craziness. I first announced to Jared that I was pregnant with Kai on Aprils Fools day but it was only a joke. Well the joke was on me since the next day I took a test and found out that I actually was pregnant. When I called Jared at work to tell him he totally did not believe me, of course. That is what you get for crying wolf.
Anyways this time it is not a joke! We found out back in February and have slowly been telling people but I figured today was the perfect day to publicly announce it.
I have not been to the doctor yet but I am going soon so I don't know the "actual" due date but it should be sometime in Mid-October.We are very excited and nervous all at the same time. Currently I am in the whole sick all day phase which makes for a very messy house. Thankfully we Never really get unexpected visitors so no one has to see the disaster.

Kai and the baby will be Just one month shy of 3 years apart which is not really what I wanted but in the end it is better. Kai will hopefully be out of her Terribly Two's and we will all be better at managing her diabetes.

Any guesses as to what you think it is? I personally hope for a girl so that Kailie for sure gets a sister but I have a  feeling it is a boy. Jared is hoping for a boy of course since there is a shortage of Theler males right now but he thinks it is a girl. At least one of us will be right!!
