1st Haircuts!

McKean and Kailie both had their 1st Haircut while Grandma and Grandpa were visiting.
I was nervous about cutting his cute little locks off myself so I asked Carolyn to do it!! She is the master of cutting boys hair after cutting 5 of her own!
He definitely was starting to look like a girl. In fact the Texas Santa at Sea World asked him if he wanted a doll for Christmas!! That is when I knew it was time!! Ha Ha!
He was not to sure what to think about all of it. The food made for a great way to distract him, I am sure he ate a bunch of his hair as well.
Goodbye sweet little baby hair!!

Such a big boy!! He looked so different and so much more like a grown up and definitely more like a boy!!
Then it was Kai Kai's turn.
Yep Kai is 4 and this was her first Haircut. It was kind of hard to see those sweet bottom hairs that she has had since the beginning be chopped off!
She was so excited to have her first haircut!!
She sat really still for Grandma!
She now informs me that her hair is getting too long and she needs to get a haircut again.
We only cut a little bit off, but with the curl it really shrunk up and looked so much shorter!
Thanks Grandma for our first haircuts!

Walking!

This little monkey man started walking in December when he was 14 months old.
It took him awhile to figure out especially after he broke his leg but once he got it he just took off.

I tried forever to get a video of him walking but every time I pulled out the camera he would stop.
We met up with some friends and the Hilton here and he loved his freedom to just walk around.

Oh I love that little guy.
Wait for ME!!

"Running" laps around the kitchen island. I love the cute little unstable learning to walk baby walk.
It is so fun to watch!!

Grandma and Grandpa visit!

We loved having Grandma and Grandpa here for almost a week. It was their first time here to visit us. Unfortunately, it ended up  being a pretty cold week so we didn't get to too much! We went to dinner one night and the wait was so long so we decided to sit outside by the heaters. It wasn't too bad. Mckean was just happy to have some chips to eat!
Kailie loves spending time with her Grandparents!
After dinner we headed down to the River walk to look at the lights. We didn't go to far and there was a lot less lights than last year!
My camera was set on some crazy setting and I couldn't get it to take a good photo in the dark. This was the best we got. It must of been really cold judging by the color of Jared's nose!
Kai was thrilled!
The best place for a ride!
Can I hitch a ride as well!
We went one day to sea world. Of course we planned to go on the warmest day of the week and apparently everyone else planned to go that day as well. It was so crowded. We actually had to stand in line to wait just to get a seat to watch the dolphin show!
We stopped and fed the ducks!

It wasn't too cold while the sun was out but once it set it was freezing and we just had our little jackets!
Daddy hung up his gift to Mommy and he and Grandma helped measure the kiddo's.

McKean was not liking the idea!
There you go little buddy!

Playing with all the Lego's.
The kiddo's made lots of different things with Grandma and Grandpa's help. Grandma bought them some extra blocks so the could make even bigger things!!
Thanks Grandma!
McKean was just starting to really walk. This week seemed to be the week that he officially started walking over crawling. Oh I miss his cute little monkey crawl.
A little nervous about navigating all these blocks!
Dr. Kailie checking out her patient with her new doctors kit.
Everything looks healthy Grandpa!
We were so sad to have grandma and grandpa leave. It is always fun when they come!

Christmas!

Christmas Eve we went to Sea World for a few hours, and then came home and just hung out as a family!
Kai was so excited even though she still didn't quite grasp how Christmas works yet.

We let them open up their Christmas Jammies
Pretty excited!!
They had kind of matching ones.
Love the whale bum!
Then we watched a movie and McKean chowed down on some Popcorn.
He was loving it!
Goofing around!

We also read the Christmas story and ate the chocolate Nativity as we did.
Always a favorite!
Then it was off to bed so Santa could deliver his goodies.Teddy Bear Elf stayed Christmas Day to make sure Kai and McKean received their gifts.
Santa left this nice note for the kiddos!
They both slept in till around 8. I made them wait on the stairs for some photos, Kai was so excited she could barely contain herself. McKean was just happy to be McKean!!

Getting to see what Santa brought!
Checking out the new gifts. We opened stockings first.
Kai asked Santa for a scooter and  bubbles.
She was excited to see the bubbles.
 So excited for Nail Polish!

McKean loved the light up ball he got in his stocking!

Opening McKean's gift from Santa!

Santa brought him Legos. He loved just climbing on the box.
Last year Santa got Kailie a scooter as well, but we lost it this summer in Hawaii so she asked for a new one this year. Last year Santa left it unwrapped sitting by the tree so this year when Kai came down and didn't see one sitting by the tree she was crushed. We could tell that she was so disappointed that Santa didn't bring her one.
Turns out Santa was just tricky and wrapped it in the box this year. She was soooo excited to open it! After opening Santa's presents we had some yummy breakfast and then headed to check out the new scooter.
It is purple and lights up just like Kai asked Santa for!
We headed over to the Kecks's to check out their loot!
The girls played a cupcake game.
Of all they toys she got she was playing with her mini m&ms the most.
Silly girl!
Then we came home and tried to skype with Papa and Nana Gardner. Unfortunately, the video wasn't working on their end so we just talked on the phone. Kai got the Bernstein Bears game and the Politician barbie from them.
Kean got some coins and a hammer toy that has been a huge hit! After that we went to the airport to pick up Grandma and Grandpa Theler. We were so excited to have them visit us!
Then we opened the rest of the presents. Kai got a doctors kit and some puzzles from them.
McKean got this Elephant that spits balls out of his trunk.
He loves it!!!!

It was a huge hit for everyone!
Kailie got a nice Backpack from Mom and Dad that has her name on it. So excited to finally have something to keep all of her preschool stuff in!

Later the Keck's came over and we had a nice Turkey Dinner. I wanted to make a turkey because I had been craving the amazing one Andrea made for Thanksgiving. Kai and Brinley work hard with Grandpa on Kai's new butterfly puzzle!
Then it was time to play with Grandpa!

Jared made this awesome gigantic ruler for me. It was a nice surprise and so great. Measuring the kiddos. Since we don't have a door to mark their growth we can take this with us everywhere we go.
It was a really nice Christmas. We tried to keep it pretty small.  It was fun to spread out the opening of gifts through out the the day. And nice to just be home and not have to rush around to go see everyone.
