18 months

This little sweet guy just turned 18 months! I can't believe it!! 

He has such a fun personality. One of my favorite things he does is when he throws his temper tantrums. They are hilarious! He always falls straight to the floor and then either 

just lays there quietly kicking his legs and hands or he sometimes cries. It is so funny and just makes me laugh every time!! And of course he always looks up to make sure we are watching or can see him. If not he will move to where we can see him.

His other favorite thing is climbing!! He loves to climb everything and anything. His knew favorite thing is our dinner table.

  He is on there all day and when he is hungry he just climbs right up and gets in his high chair. This morning I came downstairs and he was just sitting there waiting for me to feed him.

 

His other favorite things are:

Eating! All the kids wants to do is eat, but only carbs or treats. He will not even touch a fruit a vegetable, and he rarely eats meat.Some of his favorite foods are: Bread, waffles, pancakes, oatmeal, quinoa, pita chips, raisins(but now only the yogurt ones), yogurt, fruit leather, baby oatmeal mixed with fruit, smoothies sometimes. He also loves my homemade granola.Oh and Cookies, the kid loves his sweets. If he knows they are around he will stop at nothing to get one. The other day we were at a party for our music class and I had made some Hershey kiss cookies. He freaked out and so I gave him one and then tried to give him other food, he wasn't having that. So I let him have a 2nd cookie. He wolfed down that and then screamed and cried and stomped for the next 15 minutes until I eventually gave in and gave him a third. Normally I wouldn't do that but we are all trying to talk and hang out and his screaming was getting really annoying.  No wonder the kid poops sooo  much all he eats is fiber!!!

 

He also loves ice cream. We only give him ice cream made with coconut milk and so far he likes it. I know soon he will get to the point where he wants the same ice cream as everyone else but for know he gets this.  

 

He loves slides and loves our play set in the background!

 

He is not very good at walking up or down steps yet so when he discovered that Kai's new car seat was the perfect size step to practice on he did it over and over. Now he is pretty good at it!!

 He was so excited to learn this. Another funny thing he has been doing is growling like I do when I scratch my throat. One day coming home from church I kept hearing this growl sound and thought it was Kai but it was Kean. He would do it and then laugh and laugh!!

One night during dinner Jared and I were talking about something and not really paying attention to these kiddos but we realized they were taking their plates and smashing them in there faces and then switching plates. I love when they get along!

McKean loves playing with Kai most of the time. Some days they both just fight over everything but when they get along they have so much fun together!

 

 Usually one is bugging the other!

 

 Kai has taken it upon herself to let us know when Kean is Poopy. It is pretty funny, although he is not to fond of Kai pulling down his pants and checking out his bum!

Kai has really turned into a sweet big sister. She is always giving him stuff when he wants it like his binki or food. If he is in time out she is always concerned about him and wants to get him out!

Brinley loves McKean and he seems to like her as well.
 They are always so sweet together!

We went to the feed the ducks, they must have been really hungry because they came running and followed us around . Kean wasn't sure what to think!

He still hates to get his diaper changed. Every time he cries and wiggles and tries to get away. You would think by now he would learn that we will always win.

He loves to sneak away whenever he can!

 

He loves bath time and always has to sit right in front of the spout with his cup. He always sits with his left leg tucked under his bum, that must be from crawling like that for so long.  He does not like getting washed, as soon as we put the shampoo on his head he starts crying and doesn't stop till we are done washing it all off. Afterwards, he loves to run around naked on our bed. He thinks it is the coolest thing ever.

After getting all ready for bed, Daddy or Mommy reads them a story. McKean has really started to love books lately. His favorite's are the tail book, but only the peacock page, the I Love you book, and the babies on the move book. He loves books so much that he demands to sleep with one in his crib every time.

Bed time would not be complete with out Daddy being the monster and getting them. They run around and Daddy grabs them spins them around and plops them on the bed. They LOVE it.

Showing off the cute little outfit daddy got him in Ecuador. He is still obsessed with his binkis!!! I try to limit it to just naps and bedtime but he always finds some. Some days he is super fussy and I will give it to him just for my own sanity. He knows that he isn't supposed to have it but he will go get it out of his room and then when we see it we tell him no binkis till nap time and he usually takes it out and throws it but occasionally he will just keep it in and shake his head at us!

Nap time:

 He takes one nap a day during the afternoon usually after lunch and he sleeps for 2-4 hours. One day I put him to bed with out pants on and I knew that could be bad. I came in and he had taken off his diaper and feel asleep with out it, thank heavens he did not poop! I will not make that mistake twice. He  did pee all over though!!

 How can that possibly be comfortable?? Babies seem to all do it though!

Play Time:

Some of his favorite things to do are, throw the ball and that kid has an arm and he almost always aims right at your face, he loves to play with cars. He is always pushing a car around somewhere.

 

 He loves to play with the stroller. Lately, he has been sitting in it and Kai pushes him around or just walks himself around while sitting in it.

 

He is all boy, yes he is pushing a pink doll stroller but inside of it he has his raisins(food) and his ball. He has never even touched any of guys dolls or girly toys besides the kitchen.  It's amazing how it is just inherit in him. Madi on the other hand is obsessed with dolls and carries them everywhere!

 

 Mommy's stuff is always a favorite to play with!

Tunnels and climbing through, on or around things are also a favorite!

Here he has his milk and more raisins that he is toting around!!

He has recently just discovered our fun tricycles in the garage. He loves this one. He rides it down the driveway and into the road as far as he can. He is pretty good at steering it too, which is amazing to me cause Kai didn't understand the concept of it till she was 2 or older.

 He loves to be outside as long as it is not too hot!! He will not go outside if it is hot, all the other kids will be outside and he will just sit inside and watch them play and if you ask him if he wants to go out, he just shakes his head no. It is cute, he must have his Daddy's non existent cooling mechanism.

 
 But when it is not too hot, he LOVES to go to for walks!!
 
 Normally he sits in his blue car but every once in awhile he just wants to push it himself.

 
 A lot of times when we are getting ready to leave somewhere and I will say lets go get in the car, he will go in to the garage and sit in his car. Then he freaks when I pick him up to put him in my car.
 
 He loves to give high fives and pound it. He will close your fist if you are trying to high five and he wants to pound it instead. He is funny!!
He finally learned how to fold his arms for prayer and did it for the first time on Sunday June 3rd at almost 20 months old. He thinks he is so awesome when he does it and we all  make a big deal of it, of course.

We were up in Austin in February and there was  clown making balloons for the kids. McKean got a monkey hanging in a palm tree. Very fitting considering that he is our monkey man!

He loves balloons. Every time we go to the grocery store he always spies their helium balloons and freaks out!

He is so funny!!

He is definitely not as adventurous as his big sister!! He is kind of wussy. 

We went sledding in Utah and he was not a fan!He

He is a fan of riding the suitcase through the airport. He loved it just like Kai!!

 He doesn't talk much but when he does he only says a few words. His word was Mum mum but he rarely says it, pretty much only when he is mad at me will he say it. His second word was either Doggy or Daddy, they both sound similar and he says them both all day long. He loves this book we have that has animals in it. He always opens it up to the doggy and then points at it and says doggy, doggy!

He also says daddy. He loves this photo of the Theler family and will run over to it and put to Jared and say Daddy Daddy!! It is so cute!! It seems few times he said what sounds like Kailie. He also  just recently at about 19 months learned to say Yay. Which is so nice because then I can ask if he wants a particular thing such as milk and he will say Yaaay!! It is so cute!! He is also just started saying at 20 months, uh-oh and Mum. He says mum more now and not just when he is mad!

He loves his Daddy but he definitely was not a fan of him this day. I took Kai in for Jared to look in her ears and we thought we would just check out his as well since we were there. He did not love being wrapped up in the papoose. I however thought it was adorable!! And wanted to get one for home that I could wrap him and his sister in when they are being naughty!!  

 He also knows to go get a cup out and bring it to us if he is thirsty. If we put the wrong thing in it say milk instead of water or vice versa he gets so mad and starts backing up and stomping his feet.

 He has recently been climbing in the baby swing and just sitting there!!

 He is huge now!

 He is also obsessed with gold fish crackers. I bring this pink nalgene bottle which is full of goldfish to church for a snack for my sunbeams and this kid will eat half of the bottle just during sacrament!!

Madi is his best friend. They are the cutest little friends. The first time McKean went to nursery. Madi ran straight over to him and patted him and said it's okay Kean. Then proceeded to bring him over to sit by her at the table. They said she just led him around everywhere, it is so cute. The love to give each other kisses too. Hers are nice normal puckered lips kisses and his are his usual wide open mouth slobbery kisses. Poor Madi!

 

 He has the most adorable little suit coat that he wears to church. It is so darling. He looks like a miniature little man it is so cute.

 When we were in Utah in February he wore to church at my parents ward and I was out in the foyer with him and he had it on and had his binki in his mouth. This guys sitting out there thought it was so awesome that he had a church coat on and a binki. I guess it was pretty funny!

I love this little buddy of mine so much. He brings so much joy into my day. He makes me laugh all day. He loves his sister and gets so excited when he sees his Daddy. He is just growing up way to fast. I feel time just slipping away and it makes me so sad. I love this stage. They are big enough to really interact yet still nice and innocent and not defiant. One day at the Keck's he was out on the tramp with Justin, he is not very good at jumping even though he thinks he is. When he saw me he was just so excited to show me how he could jump, it was so cute!~

He loves to cuddle, he nestles his cute little head right into your neck and shoulder almost always on the right side. It is the sweetest thing. I know that won't last too much longer so I am trying to cherish each time it does.
