Summer Fun!

I tried to make the most of this last summer before Kai goes to school. We went to story time at the library every week. This week was weather and the kids got to make a rainbow hat. 

And then got to be weather news broadcasters!

We went to Artworks studio and the kids got to get all messy making some fun art!

Kai got to go to two Diabetes camp this summer. I signed her up for a week long one here in San Antonio and then when we went home for Gabriella's funereal we were there for the Diabetes Clubhouse she did last year so I signed her up for that! She loved both. The clubhouse was fun and just 2 days. 

The camp here was a week long and started early and was kind of far away but Kai loved it. They did some fun stuff, and she absolutely loved this counselor Melanie who is a teenager and has diabetes herself. They became great friends. Kai also met some kids that live pretty close to us that we have played with a few times since. I love that she can still go to camp and have fun!

This summer the weather has been so nice. Yes it is still hot and humid but it was mostly in the high 90's instead of in the 100's so we took huge advantage of it! We went to the park which is something we never did the other two summers we have lived here. 

Feeding the ducks is one the kids favorite activities. 

We were so busy trying to enjoy our last few weeks of summer that this kid hasn't really gotten the chance to nap and has stopped napping but he stills need a good nap every 3-4 days. One day after church he was a total disaster. We put the kids on the stairs if they are whiny or unhappy, once they want to be happy again they can join us. Well he was on the stairs for quite awhile, we were having friends over for dinner so we were busy trying to get dinner ready. When our friends got here we found him totally out on the stairs. He slept like this for a good 1 1/2 hours and then we woke him up to eat dinner. He is so funny!! 

Daddy went to Arizona for a few days so the kids got to have a sleepover with Mom. Where is Mommy supposed to sleep?

One of our favorite activities was going to powerhouse on Monday's to their open gym. The kids love getting to play on all the different equipment. I love that it wears them out. 

This was our last time that Kai could go before she started kindergarten. Our friend Andrea and her son Boston were there and we were both so sad that this was the last time we would get to take these guys to open gym

Of course Aquatica at Sea World is a summer must and pretty much the only way to survive the summer's here. We love it there!

Even little Bradly got to enjoy the river as long as he is able to walk!! Which makes no sense since being able to walk would do him no good in a deep pool. 

We spent a lot of days swimming at the Keck's house.

These two have gotten so good at jumping on the tramp. It seems like just yesterday that they were falling all over the place and could barely stand on the tramp let alone jump on it!

McKean is a big boy now so he has to do some chores. Putting away silverware is one of them! Sometimes he loves it and does it really fast and other time I have to fight him on it forever!

Of course it would not be summer with out some slip'n'slide fun! 

We had a couple of neighbor friends over to play with us.

. We got some train stuff from Papa Gardner while we were in Utah.  Some of his old trains from his big train tracks in the basement and an old night light that is a train. He loves them so I wanted to get him a train book from the library this was all I could find. He was obsessed we kept for as long as we could and he wanted to read it over and over again. This was the day we had to return it to the library. I thought he was going to freak out but once I told him we could get a new train book he was fine!

The kids love to help Daddy wash the cars. 

Overall we had a really great summer. It was fairly nice weather and we just tried to enjoy all the San Antonio has to offer while we live here!
