Snow Snow SNOW

  When we left for NYC there was this much snow.

 When we got home we had this much!!

The next evening we had this much

Today we have this much and counting.

It hasn't stopped snowing since we got home.

Kailie and I haven't left the house and at all!! 

So we definitely needed to get out for some fun in the snow time.

 This little monster has never been in snow so this was new and exciting.

She loved putting all her clothes on and was ready to play!!

A little hesitant at  first but she warmed up to it all.

 The snow is at least 2 feet deep so the only place we could really play was on the driveway. We hired a snowplow guy to plow our driveway and this is it after being plowed 3 times yesterday and once all ready this morning.

 No crying though,  I think she was just trying to figure out what was going on.

Surprisingly it wasn't too cold outside. We could have stayed out a lot longer but Kai's little gloves kept falling off. Time to get her some smaller ones I guess!

 Her playground is almost completely under snow. And this is only the first snow fall of the year. I think we are in for a lot of inside time this winter.

Man where is the Hawaiian Liquid Sunshine when you need it?? 

Just kidding I love Snow!!!!!

The Big Apple: The first trip

Well we are off again to visit this great city.

I thought I should probably get this posted before we leave and have a whole new trip to post.

 Our hotel was right in Time Square so we headed down there right after we got there. 

I must say it was different than I expected!

 I had never been to NYC so it was fun to finally be able to see it. There is so much to see and do it seems overwhelming. Good thing we are going back tonight!

 I just had to get a photo of Jared in front of the American Flag Army Recruiting building right in the middle of Times Square.

 The next morning we signed up to do a walking tour of Lower Manhattan! It was really cool and I would definitely recommend it. This was the sculpture that was in front of the Trade Centers. It now resides in Battery Park. This is the exact condition it was in after the attack. Pretty amazing that it survived at all.

 Kailie enjoying the sun and the view of the Statue of Liberty way out in the distance. One thing I learned is that it is cold walking around New York. The buildings provide so much shade it makes a wee bit chilly!

Awesome building with so much history to it that I never would have known or even noticed without the tour!

The Never-Ending Diabetes Care!! Poor Girl!!

Ground Zero! Not much to see right now since it is all blocked off. The new freedom tower was cool, that is the building being built on the right!

Carolyn and I got to go see the Lion King on Broadway!! It was awesome. I would definitely recommend seeing it. Thanks again Carolyn.

Walking around. We thought about going to see the Radio City Rockettes for this upcoming trip but we decided against it since we have a crazy two-year old in tow!!

The Today Show. Every morning I planned on waking up early and running over to see the show since we were just a few blocks away but for some reason I would forget every night and then remember later the next day!!

Waiting in line to go up to the Top of the Rock or Rockefeller Building. Seeing the cab in this reminds me that we also went and West Side Story. It was good but nothing amazing like Lion King and it had a few "bad" parts that I don't really remember in the movie.

We were hoping to get up there before sunset but the line took longer than we expected so this is what we had to settle for.

After the rock we rushed over to meet our good friend Joy for dinner and then after we went to Carnegie deli  for Cheesecake. Jared has been talking about this cheesecake every since I met him. It was good but I think we were all so full from dinner that we could barely eat any of it.

Kailie of course playing with her buckles! This is how she spends the majority of her time in the stroller. This street just reminded me of Sesame Street. Although I haven't watched the show since I was like 7 so I could be totally off in my comparison.

We took a boat tour of the lower part of Manhattan and got to go by the Statue. Did you know you have to get tickets to go up to the crown like 6 months in advance. Yep so we skipped seeing her this time and plan to that later in the spring.

Kailie of course had to play in the fountain even though it was super cold outside.

 Last but not least Jared and I got to do a session in the Manhattan Temple. This was a nice treat for us since we 1-haven't had access to a temple in Hawaii for the past 18 months and 2-The few times we have gone out here we end up taking turns watching Kai and doing Initiatory. Since it is a lot harder to leave her for long periods of time now!! Thanks Jack and Carolyn for watching Kai for us. It was a beautiful Temple. We got to spend some time talking with the Matron. It was amazing how quiet and calm it was inside. 

Now I can't wait to see the Rockefeller Christmas Tree, shopping and eating at the Clinton St. Baking Company-I hope it doesn't disappoint. 

Isi time

 It was so awesome having Sadie, Cory and Isi here. Next to my cousin Jenn, Sadie is the closest thing to a sister for me. So it was so much fun just getting to hang out for an entire week with no real agenda except to eat good food and watch the two kiddos dook it out. And for Kailie Isaak is the closest thing she has ever had as a sibling so like any two typical siblings they had fun playing together most of the time and had their moments of fighting, mostly over toys every once in awhile. Mostly they were best buds, it was so nice to have someone to entertain Kai so the adults could all catch up.

Isi loved his pacifier so Kai had to have one as well.

 Right before Sadie and Cory arrived I watched the T.V. show Sisterwives on TLC which is about a polygamist family in Utah. I just couldn't help but watch it, but after I had some major weird dreams about either Jared or I or friends of ours being polygamist. Anyways, one thing about their lifestyle that I would love is that they always have another woman there to talk to or help with the kids. Of course the sharing of the husband part is just too much for me . We were all talking about how nice it would be to maybe have close friends or family members all leaving somewhat together with your own private living area as well. It would be so fun to have your best friend around everyday to talk to, cook with, watch kids or just hang out. That is how this week felt for me and I love it!

We decided to head to Critz Farm again on the Saturday before Halloween. We expected it to be super crazy and crowded but instead it was like a ghost town. I guess the cold weather scared everyone away!
