Our annual dress up as a family in 4th of July style photo!
We had a pretty low key 4th of July. Jared was out of town, in Mexico, this time at a conference and I was busy trying to get all ready to leave for 2 months so this day was a nice break from it all. After we spent the day at the Guadalupe river, we came home and showered and Andrea and the kids came over to do "fireworks" which was really sparklers since real fireworks aren't aloud in San Antonio. The kids had a fun with their pop-its.
I bought a huge box and they had a blast popping all of them!
Kai decked out in her 4th of July gear!
McKean was stoked for his first 4th of July
Once it got a little bit darker we attempted sparklers. 20 matches and one burnt finger we finally had a couple lit by then the kids were a little bit nervous of them. . Note to self: Be sure to have a lighter when trying to light sparklers, don't buy the rainbow ones they are annoying to light and most importantly don't hold a match up to it because it will probably burn your fingers really bad.
We finally borrowed a lighter from a neighbor and it was little easier.
Andrea took over
The girls were a little timid especially after I burned my fingers and threw the sparkler!
Then the sprinklers came on and the poor babies McKean and Madi were on the grass.
Poor little things got soaking wet!
Then the fireworks started so we ran upstairs and a had an amazing straight on view of them. I am so glad I didn't go to sea world to see them. Fighting the crowds by myself with two kids super late is definitely not my idea of fun.
We even had some glow necklaces to play with!
Kai learned about the flag and is always spotting them everywhere we go now!
McKean spent his Independence day wishing he had some freedom from his sister's love and smothering!
Don't worry duder's next year you can get her back!
