I don't want Diabetes!

On the morning that McKean was born, we were getting ready to eat breakfast and Kai was sitting on my lap. Jared was drawing up her insulin shot, her morning shots are the most painful and she cries the most during those ones. She turns to me and Says " I don't want an Insulin shot Momma! I don't want Diabetes! This was the first time she had ever made mention to us that she knew she had diabetes. It broke both of our hearts and she still continues to say it whenever we go to give her the morning shot. She also always says Mommy doesn't have diabetes, or Daddy or Brinley, etc. But her babies and Ruf her bear do and she says that they do have diabetes. In hopes that someday she won't have to have diabetes, back in August in Utah we participated in the Walk to Cure Diabetes.
Someday I hope they will cure it, for now we are praying for the Smart insulin to work!!
It was a huge event, we did not expect so many people to be there but it was awesome to see so many who cared about curing this horrible disease!

We had a big group ourselves. It is nice to have so many people that care about little Kailie! Carolyn wanted to have shirts made and my talented sister in-law Marissa designed them. They turned out cute, and it was so fun to all be matching. They are purple because Kai loves purple.
The gang: In no order, the entire Theler family minus John, Sammie, Kate, Alyssa, Jaime, Ian, Marissa and new sweet little baby Elyse. My dad, Jenn and Kelly, Ava, Bennett. Kelly's dad Alan and step mom Robin, Teana, Sadie, Cory and Isaak.
Hanging out with the Jazz Bear.

The starting and finish line.
Getting ready to start! We were at the very back of the pack!
Walking with Aunt Jenn!

Favorite Buddy Isi came to walk!
Although I don't think they did a whole lot of walking!
Papa Gardner made it too!
Chilling with cousin Sophie or hophie as Kai says!

Teana and Sadie enjoying the hot walk!
Jason, Rachel, Nea as Kai says pose for a photo!
And they Walked and Walked and Walked!
Abby, Cam and Nea are so cute!!
Found a new stroller to catch a ride in!
Crossing the finish line with cousin "Nea"
"Phew that was hard work".
Taking a break with Sadie!
Storm chasers!
No clue why they were there but there costumes were really cool!

After the walk they had food and bounce houses to play on!!
Kai of course had a blast!!

She got soaking wet going down the big red bounce house!!
Good thing it was super hot outside!

Best Buds!
The 3 1/2 of us!!

Thanks for all you came, it means a lot to us!! If you want to do a walk where you live just go the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation and look up your city. They do them all over the country!!
Hopefully someday they will find a cure so this cute little squirt and millions of others won't have diabetes anymore!!

Have I told you congrats on the new baby yet? I can't remember. He is so very cute! I don't look forward to the day when we have to start Mason's daily shots. Ugh, that's got to be hard. How cool that you had so many people there to support Kailie. I hope there is a cure soon too!

That is heartbreaking to hear and hard for a little one to have to deal with! Here's hoping for the cure sooner than later!
