Ready or Not Here She Comes!

(a few days ago when I decided to wear Jared's dad shirt from the 70's, it just looked really comfy and it was)

It is official, I am going to be induced tomorrow morning. I can't believe that the time has come to finally give birth. I have feared birth my entire life, whenever I would see pregnant women I would think to myself "oh I am so glad that is not me because inevitable she is going to give birth and that is soooo SCARY!" Now I am that woman and ready or not this is happening! Although I am scared, I feel as though I have prepared myself the best I can with the circumstances and come what may it will all be over soon and hopefully with no complications with me or the baby! My biggest fear is that the baby, who is so little is not ready to come out and all of the sudden she is just going to be forced out into this crazy world. Most importantly, I hope and pray that she is healthy and strong!
Well here it goes, wish me luck and perhaps I can convince Jared to post some pictures so you will all be able to see our baby girl who is still yet to be named.

Precious Moments, Merely Memories

As I was digging through some old photos I found this one of my dog Puttchee when he was just a wee little pup. I have had it sitting on my kitchen table for the past few weeks and every time I saw it I would experience two emotions, the first, happiness at how stinking cute he is and then sadness because I wish so badly that I could go back to that time and hold him, squeeze him, love him and hug him. He was so little and by the far the cutest puppy ever(I might be a little biased but honestly just look at that adorable little face).

As I have been preparing to meet our little baby, I can't help but think about Puttchee and how all of the sudden he is 7 years old and on the downhill side of his short dog life(sadly). 7 years, it has already been 7 years, I am in complete shock and just have this feeling that all to quickly my little baby girl will be 7 years old and all I will have is pictures of her as a wee little babe and will have this wish to go back in time so I can hold her, squeeze her, love her and hug her. So my hope this week is that we all take the time to relish in the moment, take full advantage of the time we have and not waste any minute because before we know it time will have gone by and Precious Moments will have become Merely Memories.
(this post is dedicated to Jared because he loves Puttchee so much)

Be Prepared

From Midwife to High Risk!
Right
before I went to California I had this sudden urgency to have everything ready for the baby, get a carseat, crib mattress and everything else that I needed. I just kept having a feeling that the baby was going to come early. Then I would just tell myself that I was just worrying because Jared is gone, but now I have learned that I probably will be delivering next weekend which is 3 weeks early and I feel totally unprepared. Unprepared emotionally, physically and temporally.
Why am I delivering 3 weeks early?
Well, when I went in for my regular appointment I was measuring small which I have been the past two appointments as well, so they sent me to do tests and when they did the growth scan(ultrasound) they discovered that the babies belly is really small basically the equivalent of a 31 week baby and I am 36 weeks. Everything else looks okay but they put me on bedrest and told me to eat lots of foods with higher fat contact like whole milk and cheese and then to come in twice a week to monitor the babies heart rate and then after 2 weeks I would get another growth scan and if she hadn't grown much then they would induce me right then. So I left feeling okay and just planning on eating a ton and resting all day, well Jared of course being away called the doctor to talk to him and the doctor told him that they were going to induce me next weekend and that Jared needed to come home.
When Jared told me this I was like WHAT the doctor never told me anything about doing that so all I know right now is that Jared is trying to get home next Thursday and by this time next week we could have a baby.
I am in shock and am not ready to have this baby. I guess I just thought that I would get to the point of being so uncomfortable that I couldn't wait for her to come but I am not to that point yet and I am not prepared like I should be. I am worried for her, I am worried about the birth and having to be induced and I am worried because I don't really have anything but clothes and a few other items. Not to mention the fact that we don't even have a name picked out! Now that I am on bedrest I can't even go buy all the things that I need and I am so mad at myself because I have gone to so many stores looking at baby stuff but I was in no hurry, I wanted to shop around and compare prices and brands. I have definitely learned my lesson, ALWAYS BE PREPARED!

Rememberings of Hallowd' s Past

Happy Halloween!

College Door Decorating Contest!
As we celebrate this fun holiday today I can't help but think of some of my favorite past Halloweens and there respective costumes!

High School Dance Nerd Alert, probably my favorite High School Dance Ever!

Senior Year School Day Costumes Roller Derby Racers

Scooby Dooby Doo and Shaggy! This was a hard one to convince him to do it, but it isn't it fun and he actually looks like shaggy!

As you can see I love to dress up in fun different costumes! In this photo my roommates and I are a banana split although by myself everyone thought I was a chicken!

Last year Jared and I participated in a Glow in the dark Halloween Golf tournment so I decided to be a nerdy golfer! People said I looked like Bagger Vance(who ever that is)

Our cute pumpkin from last year!
At last today is yet another Halloween and I have yet to come up with a costume! Any quick ideas for a pregnant woman?

Stir Crazy in Sacramento

I have had the great opportunity for the past two weeks to visit Jared in Sacramento where he is currently working and besides a short visit to Utah I have pretty much just hung out at Jared's temporary house. I have felt as though I was in the dating world all over again except this time I actually got to spend the night with my boy! Which means this house is a total gross bachelor house with a super uncomfortable couch which does not bode well with my ever growing belly and constant backache. Jared is working super duper long hours so I only get to see him for maybe 2 hours if that everyday which makes for some pretty boring and lonely days although my conversations with one of Jareds roommates who is from Iran, about mormons and our beliefs are interesting I am starting to go STIR CRAZY.

I just can't hold my tongue anymore and I just need to rant a little about my experience here the past two weeks. Well, UCDAVIS medical center is not in the best part of Sacramento so I am sure that has played a big role in these events.

1st Day: EXCUSE ME MAAM!

I go to the grocery store, as I pull in my friend calls me so I decide to stay in my car with the windows rolled down to talk with her. As I am talking on speaker phone no less so everyone close could hear that I was in a conversation I hear excuse me maam do you happen to have a lighter? I replied kindly "No I don't" and continue with my conversation. 5 min. later I hear excuse me maam do you have any spare change you give me? I replied kindly and thought man two people in five minutes, then not even a few minutes later I hear Excuse me maam, this time I completly snapped because I was midsentence, sitting in my car, not bothering anyone and I blurted out " I don't have any money!!" Which the lady replied " I wasn't going to ask you for money" as she got all mad and offended. I replied "I don't really care what you were going to ask me because I am in the middle of a conversation and you are the third person in 10 min. to rudely interupt me as I am clearly in the middle of a conversation!" At this point I rolled up my windows and continued talking to my friend.

2nd experience:

After I got back from Utah I was picking Jared up at work and had just pulled up to the building rolled down the window and I hear excuse me Maam do you have a phone I can use or money to make a phone call, at this point I was shocked and said, pointing inside the building I don't but it looks like there is a phone right there on that counter why don't you go ask them.

3rd experienc:

Yesterday I went to the San Fransisco Zoo with some of the residents wifes. On the way home we had to make a quick two second stop at a store in which most of us stayed in the car. As we are sitting there this man walks up and asks if he can clean our windows for money, the driver mom was like I don't need it but here is a dollar. We literally had been sitting there for 1 minute when he approached us.

Lastly:

Well, growing up I have had some experience with people asking for money or what not but not to this extreme but the most IRONIC part is that while I was in Utah I went to Smiths in Provo and a lady approached me for money as I loaded in my groceries. Is it because I am pregnant people think I am more giving or is this just happening more and more!

I have been wanting to blog about this but didn't and then today I went to the same grocery store here in Sacramento, as I was checking out a man a couple of people behind me says looking straight at me you know the world is over populated. After which the lady next to him replys yea it is. Then he proceeds to tell the whole line about how a few years ago we didn't have a shortage of water but now we do and why because we are overpopulated. I basically just thought to myself "good I am glad that you don't want to procreate and replenish the earth because we don't need anymore people like you! I of course didn't say anything but as I was driving back I thought I am totally going straight home and blogging about my time here in Sacramento and although I have enjoyed my time with Jared(more to come on that), I hope I never have to come here or live here again!

Sorry this is so long but I just needed to rant and rave because I have no one to talk to here! Now I just hope I make it on the flight tonight so I can go HOME!

32 Weeks, Hooray!

Hooray, I made it to 32 weeks. According to my personal doctor husband, I have officially reached the safe zone, that is if I happen to deliver early the baby should be good to go from this point on! I keep getting lots of request to show my growing belly so here is a time line of the growth from 18 weeks to today!

s

I was just commenting to Jared today how much I am enjoying being pregnant now! Of course from 2 months to 5 months was not so enjoyable but I really can't even remember what it was like to be so sick all day, although Jared said that he remembers! From 5 months to now has been really great, I have energy and want to workout and be active, I love feeling the baby move and with Jared being gone I think it makes me not feel so alone even though she is inside me!
I really started to pop out after we got home from Utah in August so it is fun to actually feel and look more pregnant, even if I can't fit into my clothes anymore!

Sidenote: Congrats to Jon and Heidi (above pic.) on Finally getting married this past weekend! The wedding was great and the luau was especially fun! Goodluck and as I learned in Germany(which is where they will be living) Gott zie mitt dir bis aufvedersehen! (spelling?)

Two years down, eternity to go!

Today is our 2nd Anniversary, which is CRAZY how fast the time has gone by!
Since Jared is away, living in California we will have to officially celebrate when I go there next week. I have decided this is the year when we celebrate everything on a different date then normal. For my birthday we celebrated 2 days early because Jared was leaving, for our anniversary we will celebrate a week late and for Thanksgiving Jared is on call so we will probably celebrate that a different day too. Hopefully the baby comes before Christmas(she better or I'll probably die) so we don't have to celebrate that a different day too!

I miss you Hubby and am sad that I can't share this great day together with you! I love being your wife and miss you every day! This past 2 years have been so GREAT and I know the next 2 will be even better!
Love,
Your Wife
