New Sunday Shoes!

A few weeks ago my one and only black Sunday shoes broke!
I was suddenly in desperate need of new Sunday shoes and I wasn't sure what to do. Where do I go to get new shoes? What kind of shoe should I get? All of these questions flooded my mind while I tried to remember the last time I had purposefully gone shoe shopping, I couldn't remember the last time usually I just happen to see a pair that I like and I buy them if I have a need for them.
But now I had to go shoe shopping and I felt kind of lost in my new need. When I finally made it to a store I saw all these high heeled shoes and instantly thought, hhmm I should try some on, maybe this time I might be able to walk in them.
For those of you who have known me for a long time or lived with me would know that I am not a high-heeled girl, I don't know if I have even ever owned a true pair of heels so I decided to go for it and bought the above pair of shoes. I tried the smaller skinny heeled shoes and could barely stand up straight let alone walk in them so I went for the thicker heel.

The true test came this past Sunday when I had to walk in them and carry Kai and go down stairs and a sloped parking lot and also carry a bunch of other things I needed for my lesson. Needless to say I made it! Even though it took about 2 minutes to walk down our steps and then about 5 to get to my car after church , mostly I was worried about falling and hurting Kailie so I was extra careful. So much so that as I was carefully making my way out to the car one of the young men in our ward who was sitting in his car watching me although I had no clue he was there because I was so focused, got out of his car and asked me if I needed help. I must of looked really funny! Oh well, at least I made it with out any sprained ankles or injuries to my child.
I still am not a huge fan of heels, I just don't see the point of being so uncomfortable all the time, Jared told me that I looked like a 5 year-old trying to walk in her moms shoes, at least I have plenty of Sunday's to practice.
(For those of you wondering why my adoring husband would make me struggle and carry our child plus all my stuff, lets just say that Jared's new calling means he is very busy on Sunday's and not really available to help!)

Happy Happy Birthday Husband Dear!

Jared sunrise water skiing! A little piece of Heaven!

This morning at 2:27 am on this day of 2-27 Jared turned a year older! Seeing as I have only known Jared for 3 years I can't be certain of this but I think he is turning into a softy in his old age.

Here are the top five reasons why I think Jared is turning into a softy!

5. He eats either like an old woman or like a teenage girl who is afraid to gain weight! (Translation: lets just say that the wife should not out eat her husband but this one does)

4. He sleeps with a sheet and a blanket and even sometimes a third blanket while I am on the other side usually with just a sheet on because I am so stinking hot. Isn't it supposed to be the other way around? Granted on his behalf he does sleep right next to the air conditioning but still!

3. He loves to bake and most weeks you can find him baking bread or whipping up some oreo cookies!

2. In our shower at this very moment are 3 loofahs and one big massage brush none of which are used by me or were purchased by me!

And lastly the Number 1 reason why Jared is turning into a softy in his old age is:

Examine for yourself how he slept every night last summer at Lake Powell!
Need I say More!

Even though he is a old softy I still love him and hopes he has a Very Happy Happy Birthday even if he doesn't want to celebrate!
Love you babe!

Happy 3 months!

Kailie is 3 months old today! Crazy! Well here are a few new tricks she has learned now that she is 3 months the wiser!

She figured out that she has legs and look at how big they are getting!

She can hold on to her rattle but only if we put it in her hands!

She can swim, much to her daddy's delight!

She can hike, although she gets the easy part for this one!

and last, she knows how to be so stinking cute that her
mom and dad just want to eat her up!

Wednesday Nights!

My last year in College in SLC I was able to work in the Salt Lake Temple on Wednesday nights in the clothing department. Oh how I loved it, it was really fun and I looked forward to it!

When I first moved to Hawaii I was sad that I wouldn't be so close to a temple anymore and not able to go as much! And now I am not able to go at all because they have sadly closed the Laie Temple for remodeling for 18 months which is exactly how much longer we have here.

I was really sad about this when I found out but today at church is when it really hit me how much I miss going to the temple. People in church today talked about going to the temple to get answers to prayers and it hit me how we don't have that option right now. My whole life I lived within ten minutes of a temple and within 1 hour of like 5 temples so it is scary to me not to be able to go. I especially miss being able to put people's names down, I have so many friends and family members that are struggling and I wish I could help them in that way!

Oh how I miss those Wednesday nights!

Mr. Burns? What do you think?

I'm not really a big fan of The Simpsons but I was looking through some photos of Kailie and I immediately thought that she looked like Mr. Burns in this photo!

Except she is much cuter of course! I am sure that Jared is going to be pretty mad when he sees that I posted of photo of our daughter in a U of U shirt!

The Awesome Gift of Nighttime Sleep!

My cousin Jenn gave me this book and I have to say that it totally works! After talking with many of my friends who's babies won't sleep through the night, I am convinced that if you follow this guidance your baby will sleep! So, for all my friends out there who are extremely exhausted give this book a try, I think it will help. But you really have to follow it!
Kailie started sleeping 5-7 hours at 6 weeks and now she goes 7-8 hours pretty much every night, now I just need to figure out how to keep her warm. It has been pretty cool here at night and Kai will wake up at 5 or 6 am and her little hands, feet, cheeks and nose are cold. Poor thing! I am scared to make her to warm but man you would think that a nighty with the hands covered and two blankets wrapped tight plus a hat would be enough but apparently not! And it is not as though I can just turn up the heat, I don't think Hawaiians even know what heaters are!Any suggestions!

(this picture is when she was 2 weeks old, she doesn't sleep with her hands in the blankets anymore she like to have them above her head.)

(Kind of like this but she doesn't sleep naked!)

Like Randy from The Christmas Story!

Poor Kailie couldn't move her arms when we loaded her in all her warm clothes when we arrived in Utah! Her cute coat was a little too big!
And I love her gigantic hoodey, it was double the size of her head!
