Rollover Baby!

Last night we put Kai down for some tummy time which she absolutely hates and has since the day she entered this world. We've decided it is just because she wants to see everything around her. Anyway, as soon as we put her down she turned onto her side and we both looked at each other like she is going to rollover, so we grabbed the camera and started filming. We took a couple of short videos and she would get so close and then finally right as Jared started recording again she made it, she seemed pretty happy that she figured out how to get out of tummy time. Today when I put her down she immediately rolled over again! Have a look for yourself!

You don't see this everyday at the local Home Depot!

I love taking pictures and capturing certain moments so when I saw this I just had to capture it.
As I was pulling into the parking lot I saw this old lady pushing these three pooches and I thought "man I would love to get a picture of that." However, I was just there to return stuff so I did not expect to see the lady again but as I was at the return counter the old lady rudely interrupting us and so the cashier helped her which I didn't mind because it gave me a chance to grab my camera and sneak a picture. By the way there are 3 dogs, the third is hiding!
There are so many times when great things happen and I don't have my camera but then sometimes I do. Here are a few of the great things I have captured thus far!
I love this man ! I saw him in Lahaina on Maui! So great, life doesn't get any better than that.
This is one of my favorites. I took while I was on board a Destroyer in Pearl Harbor. This Sub was just coming into the Harbor and the men were standing at attention (I think) looking at the Arizona Memorial. It is just one of the moments that helps you remember the past!

There are many more events that I wish I would have captured but my number 1 happened when I was in San Fransisco with all of my sister-in-laws and my mother-in-law and we did a bike tour around San Fran which I totally recommend. It was my favorite thing we did. Anyways at the end of the tour we biked across the Golden Gate bridge and then headed down to Sauslito. As we were cruising down the street we passed this super sweet, tiny convertible car and sitting in the back seat were these two Huge seriously gigantic black dogs! The funny part was that they were sitting like a human would sit and because the car was so small it looked as if they were driving! It was so awesome! Anjuli and I both stopped and started laughing, aahh I wish I had that captured. Oh well, maybe next time! Moral of the story always keep your camera close at hand!

Already 4?

Monday was Kailie's 4 month birthday!! Doesn't it seem like I just posted her 3 month? I can't believe how fast the time is going by. Well she has definitely grown a lot in her short 4 months of life she is now a whopping 11 lbs. 10 oz. and 24 inches long. She has come a long way from 4 lbs. 9 oz. and 18 inches long. To visually see this progress I decided to stuff Kai back in her very first outfit, the one she wore home from the hospital when she was just 3 days old.

She is so big and looks almost like a totally different baby! My favorite part is her hat, it was so big on her before and would always roll down into her eyes and now I couldn't even get it on her head! The outfit barely fit her and actually gave her a wedgy but she was a good sport! She has just started to really make a lot of noises and even has laughed a few times!! Hopefully we will be able to get a video of that but she always stops every time we get out the camera. She must be camera shy because she also won't smile for me when I have the camera! Stubborn already! Oh well!! Happy 4 months Kai!
( I just realized that all of these pictures are of her in the car seat which reminds me that she doesn't really love her car seat and always gives me this look like "not this AGAIN" and she has learned to arch her back so I can't strap her in, she thinks it is pretty funny!)

Water Bed Camping!

Over the weekend we had a ward camp out! It was really fun and the weather was nice and cool and then about 10 pm hit and the rain came. All was fine and dandy until around 2 am when the craziness started. It was raining so hard and so loud it was insane!! We definitely could not sleep because it was so loud and Jared pretty much spent all night helping others and making sure everyone was okay! We just bought a big 8 person tent so this was the trial run, lets just say that we definitely got our moneys worth, we were dry unlike most of our camping neighbors even though our tent was literally in a puddle 3 inches deep. It was actually pretty comfy, it turned the hard ground into a nice water bed. Check out the video below to see it for yourself. Sorry about the black spot in the video, it is the shadow from the camera caused by my headlight. Also when you see the ground moving it is not the camera it is the water.

Kailie was such a trooper and slept completely through everything! I think she is going to be a great camper, now we just need some more kidlets to fill up the gigantic tent!

Although the rain was a pain to camp in, we will always remember this camping trip and the drive home was incredible with waterfalls everywhere! You gotta love that!

Babies, Puppies and Hottubs!

A while ago we went to Utah! Here is what we did!
The first few days we had all of Jared's fellow and past residents there for a residents ski retreat! There was about 12 total that came from all across the country and we all stayed at Jared's parents house which was very nice of them! Thanks again Jack and Carolyn!
Jared had a lot of fun skiing and catching up with all his fellow co-workers!

(A bunch of friends from High School and all of our new babies.)

Kai and I had fun visiting friends and family!
My cousin Jenn and her cute baby Ava!
My cousins Ryann, Aarin and Megan and all of our babies. They lived next door to me growing up and now we all had our first babies within a year of each other!

Kai especially loved my dad and the puppies!
Or perhaps it was them who loved her!
Tuffy the black and white one followed Kailie everywhere and whenever she cried he would always run to her to check on her!
Oh I love those puppies!

Romp in the Swamp- Round 1

(Before the race when all is calm and clean)

This past weekend was the annual Swamp Romp at the marine base here, which is a 5 mile race through muddy swamps, over obstacles and the hardest part running on the beach! Jared and some buddies from work decided to do it. Their team name was Blue Steel! They had a blast. Kailie and I had fun just watching all the people dressed in funny outfits.
This was my view during the race as I waited at the finish line. Not exactly pleasant but seriously, this guy dressed as a bunny or something, stood in front of me the whole time!

Jared and his team about to cross the finish line.
It is a team race so you have to cross all linked. If you look closely you will see that they had to duct tape their shoes on otherwise they would come off in the mud.
The after picture, not so clean anymore! They finished super fast which was a big surprise to me. I thought we would have to wait a lot longer! They are doing their blue steel impersonation faces just in case you were wondering! Kailie even got in on the action thanks to her dad!

The fire dept. was there to make sure nobody got to hot!
Or maybe just to clean up the muddy participants!

All in all it was really fun. It was sort of a team-building thing for Jared and his team and they definitely plan to do it again next year.
