San Antonio the beginning

We finally made it to San Antonio and Jared and Kai got to see our new home for the first time.  We enjoyed it for a few hours then headed out to Home Depot to start all of our renovations. First up, paint all the rooms upstairs. Jared had to do this since I was pregnant. Then we headed down stairs to take up all the flooring throughout the entire bottom floor. Kai helped us when she could, here she is sweeping up the broken up tile. This was the fun part!
Then it was time to start installing the new wood floor. Yes we are crazy and decided to do it all ourselves. It was crazy hard. The glue was so annoying and everywhere. A few days into being on my hands and knees all day and being six months pregnant I told Jared that I just couldn't do it anymore. We had no furniture so we were sitting on the floor all the time. Not so great when you are pregnant.
We were thankfully staying at a hotel so Kai and I would go there and hang out.
First time sleeping not in a crib. She did awesome and didn't fall off at all.
This poor girl got really sick. Our second night in San Antonio she was up all night crying, her ketones were really high which is bad. She must have had a serious ear infection but we really had no way to check her. We were in between insurance with the military and couldn't go to the military hospital. Poor thing and poor us. She was up all night so we got no sleep either since we were in the same room. Finally, the second  night I was laying there with her while she was in pain and crying and I thought what do I do in the middle of the night when I am sick? I always go out to the couch, turn on the TV and then eventually fall asleep. So I got out the laptop put on Toy Story or story as she calls it and hit repeat and she stayed over on her makeshift bed on the couch and Jared and I were finally able to get some sleep.Genius!

While we were in the midst of remodeling. Jared had the whole month of July off so we did most of it then. My cousin Lyle and his wife Janie came down with there new son Chris. Kai and Chris loved each other from the first second they met. Our house was a mess still mostly in boxes and they had to sleep on air mattresses but it was fun to see them. We went down to the infamous Riverwalk. This was my first time there and I was less than impressed. Of course it didn't help that it was 100 degrees outside.

That night we went to see the new Harry Potter movie with some friends. Right after we picked Kai up from the people who watched her for us we got in a bad accident. It was super scary. Definitely something that I never want to go through again. We are just so glad that nobody was hurt.

Then it was back to installing the floors. Our friend Beau would come over and help and it was nice to have his company and his help. This was the pivotal time when the two sides of the floor were coming together. The moment when you find out if they are going to match up or not and by a miracle they did perfectly. We were so happy!!

Finally we were done with the floors. They definitely are beautiful. Jared did amazing job. We were just so glad to be done with it all.Of course we still had the kitchen to do.
What did Kai do while we were busy remodeling you ask. Well she did alot of playing with whatever she could find .
And mostly she hung out in her playpen and watched a thousand movies. She was in heaven!!

We went to Utah for August and Jared started working but in September the Haines came out and we went to the BYU vs. Texas game in Austin. It was so awesome and fun to finally go to a game together. Yes, Jared is crazy!!

Boy Oh Boy!

Everyone keeps saying that I don't look pregnant at all, well here is proof that I definitely look pregnant!
We found out last week that we are having a BOY! We were both pretty surprised. Originally I thought it was as a boy and I was so sure and then the last two months whenever I would picture our family with the new baby I would see a girl so I was sure it was a girl and so was Jared. It took me awhile to really come to grips with having a boy, I want boys but I really for sure want Kailie to have a sister so I was a little dissapointed but now I am fine with it!! Jared on the other hand is super excited! There is a huge shortage of Theler males in the family, his family is pretty excited as well.  Now it is on to picking out a name and quite honestly I haven't really thought of any boy names this whole pregnancy except for the one that we thought of last time.

Any Suggestions??

Daddy ttime

Kai loves to spend time with her Daddy! I am not sure how much he loves to spend with her but it is fun when they do!
z
Making cookies together. Jared likes to eat and bake sweets so he does most of the baking.
I like to eat them as well which is why I pretty much avoid making them as much as  I can.
Making a mess. Daddy definitely does not handle messes very well.
Helping to mix!
Cooking dinner with Daddy or at least testing it to make sure it is good.
Blind cooking! Definitely the best way to go.
I think somebody loves her Daddy!

Outside Play

This kid cracks me up.
She has been soaking up her chance to play outside now that it is finally warm. It seems everyday she does something different out there that just makes me laugh!
Thought I would share a few!

This day she was out playing and comes walking in like nothing was wrong, then I saw her head.
She must have fallen into something that I am hoping was mud!!
Our yard was full of dandelions for a few weeks, it was so pretty and Kai loved picking all the "flowers".
One day I glanced out and saw her just chilling like this staring at the sky!
This day she insisted on eating lunch outside. We need to invest in a kids outdoor table.
This is one of my favorites.
Our neighbor gave her a bike and this helmet which she decided she needed to wear everyday! In her Jammies, sitting in her booster chair, reading books with her feet just chilling inside!
Silly kiddo!
Having a pretend pool party with all her buddies!

Always in the buff, seriously child!
Eating dinner outside while Mommy mows the lawn!
Her new favorite trick, going down backwards!

She definitely keeps my life exciting.
I love this kid!!

Dance Class

My friend Jamie decided to teach a little dance class to members of the ward, do I put Kai in it even though she was way younger than most of the kids. She loved it and still talks about wanting to go to dance class!
The day of her "performance" was the same day and time as my ob appointment so both Jared and I had to miss her first performance ever. It was so sad to me that here is my first child doing her first ever performance and I missed it. Thankfully my friend was able to videotape  it for me.
 In her dance outfit!

A video during her dance class.
One from her actual performance! She really doesn't know what she is doing but she is still so cute, I just want to eat her!

Poppy Trees

We definitely have enjoyed the blossoms on all the trees during May. It has been 5 year since I saw them and of course this was Kai's first experience. I told her that they were like the popcorn trees from the song and she was hooked. Everywhere we drove, she pointed the Poppy trees out. We don't have any popcorn trees on our street so we had to make a special stop for these ones!!

Mostly it has just been SOOOO nice to finally see the sun and have warm days. April was the rainiest April Syracuse has had,  add that to the crazy winter where we got 179 inches of snow in our yard and we were definitely ready for some sunshine and blossoms!!
I wonder if the trees blossom in San Antonio?? I am guessing they probably don't.

Kai somewhat singing the Popcorn Popping song.  We sing it every night as part of her bedtime songs.  Excuse my horrible voice. I was definitely not blessed with a good singing voice.

Happy Mothers Day

Mother's Day was really great this year!! It was really nice just having Jared home for the weekend. He was gone half of the month in April on different trips and since I am still having morning sickness it was great to have some help and even a break!
I love being a Mom to my little monkey!! She is so fun, cute and crazy.
This  is the Mother's day card that her nursery leaders made for me! So cute. This is the first one of many of these types of things I am sure but it was so cute to get it!!
Jared really tried to make the day special for me which was cute. He woke up early and cleaned the kitchen while he made me my favorite breakfast right now, german pancakes with fresh Strawberries and real Maple syrup. Church was really nice, as the primary kids were singing I looked at Kailie and realized next year she will be up there singing. The priesthood took over Primary so all the women got to go to RS and then we had refreshments and were able to chat and catch up with everybody!! Every ward should adopt this, it truly was a nice break.
Then we came home and all of us took a two hour much needed nap! We have all had colds this week, then we just hung out, had whatever we could find for dinner. It was nice, chill and just fun to hang out with the two people I love most!!
